Please read these terms and conditions carefully before using our platform. By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using this platform ("Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this Service.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website, mobile application, and services. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time, and your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of those changes.

Important: You must be at least 18 years old to use this Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age.

2. User Accounts

2.1 Account Registration

To access certain features of the Service, you must register for an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.

2.2 Account Security

You are responsible for safeguarding the password that you use to access the Service and for any activities or actions under your password. You agree not to disclose your password to any third party and to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

2.3 Account Types

  • Guest Accounts: For users who wish to book accommodations
  • Host Accounts: For users who wish to list and rent their properties
  • Admin Accounts: For platform administrators with elevated privileges

2.4 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for any reason, including but not limited to violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or behavior that we deem harmful to other users or the Service.

3. Property Listings

3.1 Host Responsibilities

As a Host, you are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate and complete information about your property
  • Ensuring your listing complies with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Maintaining the property in a safe and habitable condition
  • Honoring confirmed bookings unless exceptional circumstances arise
  • Responding to guest inquiries in a timely manner

3.2 Listing Content

You retain ownership of all content you post in your listings. However, by posting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute such content in connection with the Service.

3.3 Prohibited Listings

The following types of listings are strictly prohibited:

  • Properties you do not have the right to rent
  • Listings that violate local laws or regulations
  • Properties with safety hazards or code violations
  • Misleading or fraudulent listings

4. Bookings and Reservations

4.1 Booking Process

When you make a booking, you enter into a contract directly with the Host. We act as a limited agent for the Host to accept payments and facilitate the booking process. The Host is responsible for honoring the reservation.

4.2 Guest Responsibilities

As a Guest, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information about yourself and your party
  • Treat the property with respect and care
  • Follow the Host's house rules and check-in/check-out procedures
  • Leave the property in the same condition as you found it
  • Report any issues or damages immediately

4.3 Booking Modifications

Any modifications to a confirmed booking must be agreed upon by both the Guest and Host. Changes may be subject to additional fees or cancellation penalties as outlined in the cancellation policy.

5. Payments and Fees

5.1 Payment Processing

All payments are processed through our secure payment partners (Paystack and Flutterwave). We do not store your complete payment information on our servers. By making a payment, you agree to the terms and conditions of our payment processors.

5.2 Service Fees

We charge the following service fees:

  • Guest Service Fee: 10-15% of the booking subtotal
  • Host Service Fee: 3-5% of the booking subtotal

These fees help us operate and improve the platform. Service fees are non-refundable except in cases where we cancel a booking.

5.3 Host Payouts

Hosts will receive payment approximately 24 hours after the guest's scheduled check-in time, provided there are no disputes or issues. Payouts are subject to our verification and fraud prevention procedures.

5.4 Taxes

You are responsible for determining and fulfilling your tax obligations related to your use of the Service. Hosts are responsible for collecting and remitting any applicable taxes, including occupancy taxes, VAT, or other local taxes.

6. Cancellation Policies

6.1 Guest Cancellations

Cancellation policies vary by listing. Common policies include:

  • Flexible: Full refund if cancelled 24 hours before check-in
  • Moderate: Full refund if cancelled 5 days before check-in
  • Strict: 50% refund if cancelled 7 days before check-in

Service fees are refundable only if the cancellation is made within 48 hours of booking and at least 14 days before check-in.

6.2 Host Cancellations

Hosts who cancel confirmed bookings may be subject to penalties, including cancellation fees, calendar blocking, and account suspension. Guests will receive a full refund if a Host cancels a confirmed booking.

6.3 Extenuating Circumstances

In cases of extenuating circumstances (natural disasters, government travel restrictions, serious illness), we may waive cancellation penalties on a case-by-case basis. Documentation may be required.

7. Limitation of Liability

7.1 Platform Role

We provide a platform that connects Hosts and Guests. We do not own, create, sell, resell, provide, control, manage, offer, deliver, or supply any listings or services. We are not responsible for the condition, quality, safety, or legality of any listings.

7.2 Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

7.3 Limitation of Damages

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.

7.4 Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the platform, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

8. Dispute Resolution

8.1 Resolution Process

If a dispute arises between a Guest and Host, we encourage both parties to communicate directly to resolve the issue. If direct communication fails, either party may submit a dispute through our platform within 72 hours of check-out.

8.2 Mediation

Our support team will review submitted disputes and may mediate between parties. We may request additional documentation, photos, or evidence to make a fair determination. Our decision in disputes is final and binding.

8.3 Arbitration

Any dispute that cannot be resolved through our internal process shall be settled by binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the applicable arbitration association. You waive your right to participate in class action lawsuits.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on the Service, including text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is the property of the platform or its content suppliers and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

10. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

11. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email or through a notice on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which our company is registered, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
